Collaboration between TAG and Media Lario on space programs

The announcement of the consolidated collaboration concurrently with the insertion of TAG in the “Italian Space Industry” catalog, which collects the operators of the Italian aerospace chain

Media Lario S.r.l. (www.medialario.com) supplies high-precision optics and optical systems to agency partners such as ASI, ESA and NASA, and to leading aerospace companies. Media Lario is located in Lombardy, an area rich in experience in mechanical and metallurgical technologies for aerospace.

Media Lario manufactures space qualified optics on glass and aluminium substrates, with aspheric, free-form, and off-axis designs. The manufacturing process includes thermal stabilization treatments to ensure stable optical performance in demanding space environmental conditions, and TAG has supported Media Lario with high temperature annealing and thermal cycling processes on the mirror substratres.

TAG has more than thirty years of experience in providing heat treatments and other processes. Media Lario and TAG have collaborated for several institutional and commercial Space Programs, such as MetOP-SG, FLEX, ARIEL and other Earth Observation missions. Among several projects, TAG performed the thermal stabilization of the 1 m aluminium Target Mirror for the calibration of the MWI Instrument of the MetOP Second Generation ESA Mission.

We are also pleased to announce that TAG has been officially included in the “Italian Space Industry” catalog, a list of certified Italian companies operating in the aerospace sector by the Italian Space Agency. A small goal that makes us proud and that opens the doors to new opportunities.
